Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Pueblo, CO

Overview We're a busy Pediatric Dental office looking for a dental assistant that is great with children. Previous experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Compensation will be based on skills and prior experience. Duties include taking x-rays, various dental procedures, cleaning the office, scheduling, insurance coordination / treatment presentation, managing phone calls and more. Since we are a medium size, family run office, we expect our assistants to be cross-trained and grow in their position. Individuals must be willing to travel to both our Pueblo and Pueblo West offices so a reliable mode of transportation is a requirement. Must be willing to get BLS (first aid) trained & certified. While we do close for major holidays, you must be available during other school holidays, breaks and Fridays in order to best serve our patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques. Take and develop medical imaging as required for patient diagnosis. Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Utilize dental software systems such as Curve for scheduling, billing, and record-keeping. Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming atmosphere for young patients. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Assist with medical coding for insurance claims as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment is advantageous. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
