Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term health habits. Uphold strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as reviewing documentation for accuracy, managing medical coding, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a strong plus, along with experience in pediatrics-focused environments. Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting in general dentistry procedures. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, especially children.
