Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and safety compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding. Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist with comprehensive treatment planning. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining organized medical records. Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure clear communication within the team. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for working with young patients. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics are advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
