Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Dallas, TX

Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chairside assisting, patient care, and dental office operations. This role requires excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of dental procedures and patient education. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures including fillings, extractions, crowns, implants, Invisalign, Ortho and root canals. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines. Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays). Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist. Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs. Patient Care Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after dental procedures. Communicate clearly with patients regarding treatment procedures, oral hygiene, and follow-up care. Manage anxious patients and maintain a calming presence during treatment. Administrative Duties Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes. Assist with inventory control and ordering of dental supplies and materials. Follow infection control and sterilization protocols. QualificationsRequired: Dental Assistant certification from an accredited program. 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant. Current CPR/BLS certification. Radiology certification as required by state regulations. Proficiency in dental software Preferred: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification. Experience with digital x-rays, intraoral scanners. Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Commitment to maintaining a high level of patient confidentiality and professionalism. Working Conditions Full-time position. Clinical setting with exposure to blood-borne pathogens, dental instruments, and chemicals. Requires prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
