Overview Blount Dental Center in Cleveland, AL seeks Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team as a and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral health care! Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical coding. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, treatment plans, and progress notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, demonstrating proficiency in dental terminology and patient care. Familiarity with Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs measurement and medical history review accurately. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health and treatment procedures. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, chairside assisting skills, and infection prevention standards. Production based Bonus available after 90 days Join us in creating healthier smiles!
