Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote a comfortable and efficient environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, in accordance with established protocols. Take and record vital signs and medical histories to assess patient health status. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans. Capture and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control standards are upheld through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before finalizing patient records. Assist with patient assessments, including medical coding and documentation review for billing purposes. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to OSHA standards and infection control protocols. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or both; pediatric experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures. Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred; internship experience is also acceptable for recent graduates.
