Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake and registration processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism. Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance verifications, and handle billing processes including medical collection and coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support with dental terminology and clinical protocols. Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) like Meditech or eClinicalWorks, ensuring accurate documentation review and data entry for medical and dental records. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, maintaining medical records, processing payments, and managing office supplies to support smooth clinic operations. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and providing outstanding customer service to foster positive patient relationships. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; clinic experience is a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or Dentrix is essential; familiarity with Eaglesoft is advantageous. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), HIPAA compliance, and health information management practices. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems. Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and medical billing accuracy. Outstanding communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
