Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Manage patient records efficiently within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, like Open Dental while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using dental terminology, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits. Coordinate with the dental reception team for appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and medical documentation updates. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures. Assist with dental procedures across specialties including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry to ensure seamless workflow. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting as a Dental Assistant or similar role is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy is essential. Hands-on experience with dental X-ray techniques and medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience supporting chairside assisting in various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry.
