Permanent Dental Assistant Job in San Diego, CA
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, caring, dedicated, and detail-oriented chairside Dental Assistant to join our family general dentistry team in the San Carlos neighborhood ( La Mesa/San Diego). The office is open Monday-Thursday. We are looking for a team member with a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to work both front and back office. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Take dental X-rays: periapical and bitewing radiographs as needed Manage patient flow by warmly greeting patients, escorting them to the treatment room, record vital signs and medical history updates Updating dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. (training will be provided) Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions as needed Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines Assist with administrative tasks such as documentation, insurance updating, scheduling patients, dental charting, and answering phones Experience Current dental x-ray license or currently training to obtain dental x-ray license is preferred Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to provide high-quality patient care Familiarity with chairside assisting and knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is advantageous Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and medical/dental documentation standards is important for success in this role (training will be provided) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week Benefits: Employee discount Free parking Health insurance On-the-job training Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Work Location: In person
