Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Modesto, CA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will support orthodontic procedures, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques, infection control protocols, and have a x-ray license. Prior experience with Invisalign and LightForce is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Take dental photos and X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Take detailed charting notes and accurate coding for procedures. Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices. Take quality impressions, pour models and make trutain retainers. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols. Maintain a clean environment, empty trash, vacuum, wipe down counters and restock before leaving each day. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of orthodontic procedures such as fitting bands and Invisalign is preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems such as OrthoTrac and weave is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Certification in X-ray technology and familiarity with medical imaging techniques required. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members.
