Our office doesnât fit you into a âshoeâ or one specific dutyâ¦as an assistant, you have duties that span the office, from educating patients, to fulfilling treatment plan information and knowing computer software systems within the office. If you donât know them, weâll teach you and expand your education. Responsibilities Work with other team members to coordinate throughout the day Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Welcome patients in the dental office Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Skills Willingness to learn systems and software of the office Proven experience as dental assistant Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: Holiday Pay Vacation Pay Retirement benefits Personal and immediate family dental benefits Bonus incentives Employee training & development Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: Dental assisting: 2 years (Preferred, but not mandatory) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification RDA Work Location: One location Pay: From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Free parking On-the-job training Paid sick time Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Referral program Experience: Dental assisting: 5 years (Required) Dentrix: 2 years (Required) Work Location: In person
