Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Our current assistant is leaving the state and we are looking for someone who is willing to stay with the practice for a long time. Current assistant will help with transition. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control standards, and support the delivery of comprehensive dental care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering patient comfort. Candidates with experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics are encouraged to apply. A strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative treatments and be comfortable with using the Itero. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Support the dental team with administrative duties such as verifying insurance information and assisting with medical coding as needed. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is advantageous. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry is desirable. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes required for safe practice. Certification or licensing as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is mandatory. Experience with dental imaging including X-ray technology and 3D scanners is a plus. Understanding of dental procedures across specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics enhances performance in this role.
