Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive measures, and post-treatment care to foster long-term health habits Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Document treatment details accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy for each patient visit Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance Skilled in chairside assisting, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient care procedures Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, demonstrating empathy and professionalism Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
