Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials. Bilingual in Spanish and English Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques with excellent patient care and communication skills. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical imaging procedures, and maintain sterile environments. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and medical records management.
