Responsibilities: Empathetic Patient Management: Welcome patients warmly and use active listening to understand their dental anxieties or concerns before treatment. Preventive & Therapeutic Care: Perform gentle but thorough cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling, and root planing while continuously checking on patient comfort. Comprehensive Health Screening: Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments, explaining each step to keep the patient informed and at ease. Personalized Education: Develop individualized oral hygiene plans, coordinating with Treatment Coordinator on outstanding or unaccepted treatment and to educate patient on overall wellness, including oral health techniques (brushing, flossing, and nutritional habits) Advanced Technology Integration: Utilize digital X-rays, intraoral cameras to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient understanding. Collaborative Co-Diagnosis: Work closely with the dentist to co-develop treatment plans, ensuring the patient feels like a valued partner in their own care. Required Skills & Qualities: Exceptional Soft Skills: Strong empathy, emotional intelligence, and a positive, "patient-first" attitude. Clinical Excellence: Proficiency in using manual and ultrasonic instruments with a focus on a gentle, pain-free technique. Communication: Ability to explain complex dental concepts in simple terms and manage sensitive patient situations with professional grace. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to both clinical work and maintaining accurate, digital patient records. Qualifications: Active State License as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Dental Hygiene program. Current CPR/BLS certification.
