Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Duties Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients. Assess patients' oral health and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR). Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care. Assist in the administration of local anesthesia as needed. Perform vital signs checks and maintain accurate medical records. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling. Implement aseptic techniques to ensure infection control during procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to provide chairside assistance during treatments. Maintain knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices when working with younger patients. Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proficient in using Eaglesoft and Dentrix software systems. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and practices. Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and medical imaging procedures. Familiarity with general dentistry practices, including patient care and assessment. Competence in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Ability to navigate EMR systems effectively for documentation review and medical coding. Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health maintenance. Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
