Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated cross-trained Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a proactive individual who is knowledgeable in dental procedures and possesses strong communication skills to assist both the dental team and patients effectively. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for use. Perform infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist. Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Utilize dental software Dentrix for patient record management. Support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks when needed. Requirements Two or more years of clinical experience in a dental practice - X-ray certification required; additional certifications such as CPR, coronal polishing, or sealant application are a plus Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
