Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, supporting dental procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices, proficiency with dental software, and a commitment to patient education and comfort. The Certified Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in ensuring the overall health and well-being of our patients across general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Record patient medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain infection control standards using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Use 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with chairside assisting duties, including preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care across specialties like pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience Valid certification as a Dental Hygienist with current licensure in the state of practice. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy. Prior experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous. Proficiency in taking X-rays, medical imaging techniques, and understanding dental terminology is essential. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding enhances effectiveness in this role.
