Job Summary Apalachee Bay Family Dental, conveniently located near both local hospitals in Tallahassee, FL, is a new, state-of-the-art, private, solo dental practice focused on providing the best patient experience. Dr. Grooters has over 18 years of private practice experience and a loyal team of dental professionals that go above and beyond for our patients and over 700 five-star reviews and growing. We have 7 fully equipped operatories with the newest Adec equipment, ConeBeam and Nomad x-rays. We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality preventative care, patient education, a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and be an excellent communicator and team member. Perform patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care tailored to their needs. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing compassionate care and addressing any concerns promptly. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health. Experience using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about dental health and treatment plans. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties when needed, including taking vital signs and assisting with dental procedures.
