Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth daily workflow. This role requires proficiency in dental procedures, strong knowledge of dental terminology, and familiarity with various dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a professional and hygienic environment, supporting general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies for procedures such as X-rays, medical imaging, and chairside assisting. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, endodontic treatments, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and record vital signs and medical history of patients to ensure accurate medical documentation. Operate EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other dental software to update patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Capture high-quality X-rays and utilize 3D scanners when necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Educate patients on dental health, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using appropriate dental terminology. Manage patient flow efficiently by assisting with reception duties when needed as a dental receptionist. Ensure all medical documentation is accurate and complete for insurance claims or medical coding purposes. Support general clinic operations by maintaining a clean environment and adhering to infection control protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Familiarity with dental procedures including chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, vital signs measurement, and infection control practices. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures is a plus. Ability to handle medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about their treatments. Certification in Dental Assisting (preferred but not mandatory).
