Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and professional Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle insurance verifications, and support administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities and prior dental office experience are highly valued. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk customer service Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT and ICD coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain accurate patient records, update medical histories, and review documentation for completeness Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries Prepare and review care plans, ensuring proper documentation of treatment plans and procedures Assist with insurance claims submission and follow-up to ensure timely reimbursement Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, document review, and maintaining organized medical records Ensure compliance with health information management standards and HIPAA privacy regulations Qualifications Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is preferred; clinic or hospital experience is a plus Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing) Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are highly desirable Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and record keeping Previous experience in front desk or office management roles within healthcare settings is preferred This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic dental environment where professionalism, efficiency, and compassionate patient care are prioritized.
