Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with infection control protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records for accurate documentation and medical coding compliance. Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques suited for children. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry, dental office operations, or dental clinic environments. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting is desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding standards related to dental records. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
