Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our orthodontic practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for various orthodontic procedures. Take X-rays as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency during procedures. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic. Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in orthodontics. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant is appreciated but not required. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is appreciated but can be taught. Experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques is required but can be taught. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric settings.
