Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Spokane, WA

Job Overview We are seeking a professional minded and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our well-established dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance to both doctor and patients, while ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Take vital signs and medical history of patients prior to treatment Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records using Eaglesoft Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment Assist with documentation for insurance claims and patient records Support the team with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer questions related to dental procedures and terminology Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential Experience with Eaglesoft is highly desirable Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is required Certification in dental assisting or related training is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures related to dental assisting This position provides an engaging environment where technical skills meet compassionate patient care.
