Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team as our assistant is going on maternity leave soon. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient management. Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and gathering medical history. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Support pediatric dentistry needs by creating a welcoming environment for younger patients. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling dental receptionist tasks. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in using EMR systems. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and coding. Knowledge of aseptic techniques, anatomy, infection control measures, and medical imaging. Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
