Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols. Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Record vital signs and medical history, maintaining accurate medical documentation in Eaglesoft. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices. Assist with the use of advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and other dental imaging devices. Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper anatomy knowledge to prevent infection control issues. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating sensitivity to pediatric patientsâ needs. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality care in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately; certification in radiography is preferred. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and medical imaging procedures. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification or training in pediatric dentistry or experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
