Dental Assistant & Admin/Floater - Alliance Dental - South Portland, ME

Are you looking for variety in your day to day? We are in need of someone that knows their way around a dental office. A dental assistant with some light administrative experience would be ideal. This position would "home base" out of the Buxton dental office but would cover for DA/admin time off as needed in 1 of two, possibly three locations. The locaitons are South Portland, Buxton and Bridgton. We understand that Bridgton can be quite far so we would maximize the effort to the busy Buxton office and help cover South Portland mostly. A day in the life includes: Evaluating what patients have scheduling needs and assist in scheduling. Top priority would be to keep the schedule filled. Assist with answering and fielding calls. Assist with treatment planning according to the doctor's recommendations. Flexibility to provide administrative help, flip rooms, cover sterilization or assist the doctor at 2-3 offices as required with sufficient notice to you. Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures. Setup and breakdown operatory post treatment. Taking dental radiographs (X-rays). Managing infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment. Providing patients with instructions for oral care following all dental treatment procedures. Educating patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. Performing various office tasks as necessary.
