Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining optimal oral health for patients of all ages. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver comprehensive dental services in a friendly and professional environment. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent disease. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Document treatment procedures accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Collaborate with dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain detailed records of patient care, medical coding, and treatment notes in accordance with clinic standards. Monitor patient vital signs and assess overall health status before procedures. Support general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable, ensuring a positive experience for young patients. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting, preferably within a dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology is essential. Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and chairside assisting is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Prior experience in documentation review, medical coding, and utilizing dental assisting techniques will be considered an asset.
