Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Rutherford, NJ

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our growing and reputable dental practice. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental services while helping patients achieve optimal oral health. Experience with dental software such as Dentrix or Open dental is preferred. Comfort working with patients of all ages, including children, is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing Obtain and document patient medical histories and vital signs Conduct dental radiographs and other imaging procedures as needed Provide patient education on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment plans Assist with patient assessments and support clinical decision-making Deliver chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including pediatric and general dentistry Maintain strict infection control and sterilization standards using proper aseptic techniques Accurately document treatments and notes in EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory standards Support overall clinic operations to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient environment Stay current with evolving dental practices, documentation standards, and professional guidelines Qualifications & Experience Active Dental Hygienist license Prior clinical experience in general or pediatric dentistry preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures Proficiency with EMR systems and dental software platforms Experience working with pediatric patients and four-handed dentistry is a plus Thorough understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while contributing positively to the dental team Why Join Us?
