Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient assessment, education, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Utilize dental imaging equipment to capture necessary diagnostic images. Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; assist with medical coding as needed. Adhere to all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection prevention. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing. Proven experience in dental office settings; experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems is essential. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical records management. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment accurately. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review procedures. Effective communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
