Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring a sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and efficiency. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, including updating medical documentation and coding information appropriately. Obtain vital signs and medical history from patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning and ensure safety during procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical records efficiently. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and use of 3D scanners for advanced imaging needs. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures across multiple specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance for safeguarding patient information. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
