Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in dental assisting. This role involves providing high-quality support to our pediatric dentists, ensuring that our young patients receive the best care possible in a friendly and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental X-rays and perform medical imaging as required. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage patient flow, including scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient comfort during procedures. Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment. Utilize EMR system Archy for patient management and documentation. Stay updated on pediatric dentistry practices, dental terminology, and anatomy knowledge. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Archy. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation processes. Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred but not required; familiarity with general dentistry is beneficial. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor with young patients. Familiarity with medical coding and records management is an asset. Experience with 3D scanners or other advanced dental technology is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children and their families.
