Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Oceanside, CA

Our friendly dental office is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. In this role, youâll play an important part in helping our patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles. Youâll provide thorough cleanings, perform initial patient screenings, and guide patients on preventive care and everyday oral health practices. Working closely with the dentist, youâll help identify and support treatment for gum and tooth conditions while making sure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and cared for. Responsibilities Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients before and during their visits Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with safety standards Perform initial oral health screenings and review patientsâ dental and medical histories Identify signs of oral health conditions such as cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease Clean and protect patientsâ teeth, including removing plaque, calculus and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene, including demonstrating effective brushing and flossing techniques Provide clear post-treatment and post-procedure care instructions Take dental x-rays as needed Work closely with the dentist to help determine appropriate treatment plans, including identifying more serious conditions such as oral cancer Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts Monitor and manage dental supplies to ensure the operatory is fully stocked Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar clinical role Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including HIPAA compliance Experience preparing, maintaining, and handling dental equipment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A warm, patient-centered, and professional demeanor Strong attention to detail and organization Physical stamina to meet the demands of a clinical environment Current and valid dental hygiene, CPR, and x-ray licenses Job Type: Part-time Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Professional development assistance Work Location: In person
