As a key member of our dental practice, the Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive oral health services, educating patients on oral hygiene, and supporting the overall efficiency of the clinic. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary considerations, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing medical records securely, and following all safety procedures related to medical terminology and anatomy knowledge. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist within a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Must be comfortable with laser nd local anesthetic administration. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable for efficient documentation review and patient management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, and infection control protocols is essential for accurate recordkeeping and compliance. Prior experience with pediatric dentistry enhances the ability to provide age-specific patient care effectively. Demonstrated proficiency in chairside assisting techniques, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging contributes to comprehensive patient care delivery. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations are critical assets for success in this role.
