Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental services while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical records. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper safety protocols are observed. Record vital signs and medical history, updating patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Manage medical documentation and coding for procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas regularly. Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to anatomy knowledge, infection control, and aseptic technique. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical imaging, and medical coding is advantageous. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Experience with X-ray procedures and 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role. Previous experience supporting various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics will be considered an asset.
