Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and organized according to aseptic technique standards Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support efficiently and confidently Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records Manage patient flow by greeting patients as they arrive, updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and scheduling follow-up appointments with precision Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, ensuring their safety throughout treatment sessions Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization procedures and managing inventory of dental supplies Support administrative tasks such as answering the dental receptionist phone line, verifying insurance information, and assisting with medical coding for billing purposes Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting is preferred; ongoing education in endodontics or prosthodontics is advantageous Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes related to dental procedures Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a meaningful difference!
