Job Summary We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our dental team! Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and other medical imaging, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems; accurately document treatment details and medical history. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal procedure flow. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary, especially for pediatric or medically compromised patients. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental health. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment. Proficiency with EMR systems: Eaglesoft Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures; knowledge of pediatric-specific care is highly desirable. Certification in radiography (X-ray) procedures preferred; excellent communication skills as a Dental Receptionist are beneficial.
