Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and administrative tasks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to comprehensive dental services, including general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready. Provide chairside support through four-handed dentistry techniques, maintaining efficiency and patient comfort throughout procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or medical coding. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring sterilization of instruments. Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, with familiarity in general dentistry. Proficiency in Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and patient care. Experience supporting various specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude; capable of working effectively within a team environment supporting four-handed dentistry.
