Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared in advance. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate images for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of hygiene. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to document patient information accurately, including vital signs and medical history. Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Conduct chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency and patient comfort. Take vital signs, assist with medical imaging, and support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment that eases anxiety. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and managing medical records is a plus. Familiarity with dental radiography including X-ray procedures; certification in radiology is preferred. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control standards, and general dentistry procedures. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient interaction roles; ability to explain procedures clearly to pediatric patients is advantageous. Knowledge of specialized areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics enhances your versatility within the team.
