Duties Complete cleanings on pediatric patients and present patient to doctor for exam Assist the dentist during various procedures including exams and treatment Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems Support pediatric patients by explaining procedures in an age-appropriate manner and providing reassurance to foster trust and cooperation Manage charting, including updating dental records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures while maintaining excellent teamwork with the dentist Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting tasks and terminology Knowledge practice management software (we currently use Dentrix, but knowledge of other practice management software is helpful!) Experience taking X-rays Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to oral health, and dental terminology Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while supporting the dentist during procedures Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly to children and parents alike Certification in X-ray techniques preferred; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry practices is a plus Join us if you’re passionate about creating joyful dental experiences for children!
