Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Grand Rapids, MI
Overview We are seeking a dedicated, positive and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a role in providing high-quality patient care, promoting oral health, and supporting the overall functioning of the dental team. Responsibilities Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar build-up. (Prophy's, Perio Maintenance and/or Scaling/Root Planning) Assist with patient examinations, recording medical histories, and updating dental records accurately Educate patients with instruction and techniques to maintain optimal dental hygiene Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate imaging techniques Operate dental equipment safely and effectively to support diagnosis and treatment planning Collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care Maintain infection control protocols and uphold hygiene standards within the practice Qualifications: Maintain a current Registered Dental Hygiene License. Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and dental procedures Competence in dental imaging techniques, including radiography and other diagnostic tools Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients efficiently Compassionate communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health practices Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team This position is ideal for a dental hygienist that is passionate about advancing their career in dental healthcare while contributing positively to patient outcomes.
