Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures clearly. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Take high-quality X-rays and operate 3D scanners or other medical imaging devices as needed. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing dental receptionist tasks, and updating medical documentation. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support accurate documentation and communication. Ability to perform chairside assisting including X-ray taking, vital signs measurement, and four-handed dentistry techniques. Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and proficiency in handling various dental instruments. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage medical records, dental coding, and appointment scheduling efficiently.
