Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Utilize our EMR systems Practice Works for efficient patient management. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Experience Previous experience as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with knowledge of medical terminology related to the field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
