Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient care. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for assisting with chairside procedures, taking X-rays, managing medical documentation, and supporting the dental team in delivering exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging as needed, ensuring proper safety measures are followed Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical records, and scheduling appointments Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate medical documentation and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support administrative tasks including answering the phone as a dental receptionist when necessary Utilizing advanced dental technology to assist in treatment planning when applicable Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to ensure effective communication within the team Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques is mandatory Experience with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry enhances candidacy Certification in X-ray safety and radiography is highly desirable Strong understanding of medical coding, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance is beneficial Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety This position provides an excellent platform for professional growth within a supportive environment committed to delivering outstanding dental care.
