Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Stellar Family Dental - Melbourne, FL

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant You will be responsible for assisting the dentist during dental procedures, preparing the treatment rooms and instruments, taking x-rays, and updating patient records. You will also greet patients, schedule appointments, and perform tasks as directed. Dental Assistant Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs. Prepare the treatment rooms and instruments before each appointment and sterilize them after each use. Take and process xrays of patients as instructed by the dentist. Update and maintain patient dental records and health history. Greet patients and make them feel comfortable in the treatment room. Schedule patient appointments and confirm them as needed. Coordinate cases with dental labs. Perform supply inventory and order dental supplies and materials as needed. Maintain a clean and sterile working environment. Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene practices. Follow all OSHA, Radiology and Biowaste guidelines. Perform preventive maintenance on dental equipment. Dental Assistant Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited dental assistant program (RDA, EFDA preferred) Current CPR and Radiology certification required. 12 years of experience as a dental assistant preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow policies and guidelines. Ability to work in a team environment.
