Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. This position requires a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients. Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist the dentist during procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during treatments. Take and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with practice protocols and medical coding standards. Review documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health. Proficient in patient care with a focus on comfort and education. Experience in four-handed dentistry and assisting during dental procedures. Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure safety in the clinical environment. Ability to perform medical imaging effectively for diagnostic purposes. Competence in patient assessment to identify oral health issues accurately. Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures. Understanding of medical coding for accurate documentation review. Note: This is a part-time position with room for growth in the near future. Currently offering 1-2 days (8-16 hours) per week.
