Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and support overall clinical operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience and promote optimal oral health. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth using ultrasonic and hand instruments Conduct periodontal assessments and measure pocket depths to evaluate gum health Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration prior to procedures Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options Review patient medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry when needed Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment Document treatment details accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized patient care plans Adhere to all infection control standards and dental office policies Skills Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR platforms Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding practices Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery Ability to assess patient needs through comprehensive evaluation and documentation review Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management Effective communication skills for explaining procedures and oral health education to patients This position offers an opportunity to work within a professional environment dedicated to providing high-quality dental care.
