In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional preventive dental services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe and effective treatment. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and workflow. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate dental records, document treatment details, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Follow infection control protocols adhering to OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations to protect patient health information. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
