Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant RDA to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and familiarity with various dental software systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant RDA will support the dental team by performing chairside assisting, patient education, and maintaining clinical and administrative standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging as required, ensuring proper safety measures are adhered to. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental; ensure accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices. Maintain sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of the clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed. Assist with advanced procedures such as 3D scanning and intraoral imaging to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and medical coding to ensure precise documentation for insurance claims and medical records management. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate patient care. Requirements Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or certification required. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Ability to perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs measurement. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, 3D scanners, and intraoral cameras preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical documentation processes including medical coding and record keeping for insurance purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across pediatric and adult populations.
