Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to aseptic techniques. Manage patient records efficiently within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices to optimize procedure efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation during patient visits to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as open dental , Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental care. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
